During this workshop, we will review the essential approaches to incident investigation that yield the most useful information for later analysis. We will practice investigation interview skills and share data collection strategies. Once all investigation data is organized, we will dive into various techniques for root cause analysis and practice at least three of them using real or fictional examples you provide.

This session will be fully interactive. We’ll work hands-on in a small group using virtual meeting tools (Skype for Business) for screen sharing and voice. Plan accordingly to keep your audio line open throughout the session and share your thoughts and questions.

At the end of the session, you will have practiced how to gather data for a full incident investigation and how to conduct the right type of root cause analysis to elucidate all root causes.
